Living in Woodstock has so many advantages—first-rate dining, boutique shopping, and a strong, welcoming community, just to name a few. But Woodstock’s location—just 30 minutes from the heart of downtown Atlanta—is yet another reason for the city’s growing popularity.

While many Woodstock residents commute to Atlanta, so many others have found everything they need even closer to home. As part of an Atlanta suburb, though, Woodstock homeowners have easy access to an even wider variety of activities and entertainment. Taking an opportunity to check them out – to be a tourist in your own town – is a perfect way to spend an early Fall weekend!

Whether you’re a new home owner in Georgia or have lived here all your life, you’ve probably heard of the World of Coke, the Atlanta Aquarium, and the CNN Center (and if you haven’t or haven’t in a while, you should definitely check them out!). Today, we want to share a few other ideas for easy weekend plans to get you out of the house and enjoying the beautiful city we call home!

Outdoor Attractions in Atlanta, GA

As we begin to transition from Summer to Fall, the weather couldn’t be better for exploring Atlanta’s best outdoor attractions! The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a quiet oasis in the middle of the city. It offers a variety of well-cultivated beauty, from the Fuqua Orchid Center to the Japanese Garden.

If you’re looking to get some exercise and take in Atlanta from a different perspective, check out the BeltLine! It’s a former railway corridor turned multiuse paved trail that winds through the city. Along the way, there’s plenty to see, from art installations to easy food options.

Atlanta Cultural Experiences

Atlanta boasts world-class museum and theater experiences! Visit the High Museum of Art for exquisite exhibits, inspiration, and tailored programming for all ages. The Atlanta History Museum is designed for your inner explorer. Sitting on 33 acres, the museum includes four historic houses worth checking out.

And for the theater buff, Atlanta’s Fox Theater—an old movie palace turned playhouse—is lovely on its own. From Broadway productions to comedy shows to rock concerts and everything in between, a show at the Fox is well worth the easy drive into the city

Unique Dining for Every Pallet

Like Woodstock, Atlanta is a city for foodies! Our favorite place to find a wide variety (everything from the city’s best burger to excellent ramen) is Ponce City Market. It’s a fun, busy place right off the BeltLine, and it offers some great shopping, too!

For an elegant, unique night out, we’d be remiss not to recommend the Sun Dial restaurant. Sitting atop the Westin Peachtree Plaza, the fine-dining restaurant rotates, offering 360-degrees of unparalleled views of the city – a truly unique Atlanta experience.

More recently, Atlanta has also become known for its craft beer scene. For the true enthusiast, there are several tour options to visit a number of the city’s most popular breweries. If you find yourself in town and want to check one out, Scofflaw, Sweetwater, and Orpheus are a few of our favorites.

If Woodstock’s convenient location and easy, small-town vibe have you thinking about buying a new home in the area, we’d love to show you what Rezide Properties has to offer! We’re building two- and three-bedroom townhomes just an easy stroll away from delicious restaurants on nights you want to go out, a farmers market for healthy, truly local produce, and beautiful boutique shopping for whiling away an easy afternoon.
