Spring is slowly beginning to arrive, with intermittent sunshiny, warm days, and if you’re like us, you’re probably just itching to get outside and soak it all in! As you may know, at Rezide Properties, we build homes that seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living, and as the warmer weather rolls in, we’re leaning a little more heavily towards the outdoors. It’s perfect weather for strolling into downtown Woodstock and enjoying all of outdoor dining options (and we’ll publish a guide on that soon!), but it’s also a great time of year to be a little more active and hike!
As you probably know, when it comes to real estate, location is everything – and Woodstock has everything! A perfect location for in-town and outdoor enthusiasts alike, this city is home to some of its very own trails to explore and also just a short distance from more advanced options in the North Georgia mountains. Here are a few of our favorites!
Hiking Trails in Woodstock – Near New Homes in Downtown
One of the many (and wow are there a lot!) great reasons to move to Woodstock is its proximity to outdoor adventures. In 2019, Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine named Woodstock its Top Adventure Town – and hiking is absolutely a part of that!
Olde Rope Mill Park is probably the most popular hiking location in Woodstock – located about two miles from Westown, our new construction homes in downtown – and it offers everything from a short flat, paved trail to more moderate hikes along Little River.
Similar to Olde Rope Mill Park, Blanket Creek Mountain Bike Park allows hiking (in the opposite direction) on the bike trails. With hikes that can be a bit more technical, it’s another great local Woodstock option!
And of course, if you’re into the idea of walking in the woods but would rather do so on pavement (we get it!), Woodstock’s Greenprints Trail System includes the Noonday Creek Trail and the Towne Lake Pass Trail, both perfect for explorers of all ages!
Hiking Trails a Short Drive from Woodstock, GA
Did we mention we love Woodstock’s location? If you’re willing to go for a short drive, there’s a whole world of trails at your feet!
Just 11 miles to the south of Woodstock, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park offers a glimpse of history and over 22 miles of maintained trails. While there are gentle walks amongst the fields, it’s the steep climb to the top of the mountain that’s the most popular.
Equally close, but in a different direction (just 12 miles west of Woodstock) lies Red Top Mountain State Park. The 15 miles of trails within the park span in length from a short half mile to a longer five and a half mile loop.
And if you’re willing to take bit more of a drive, you’ll be rewarded with Amicalola Falls State Park and the highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. With ten total trails, there are multiple ways to view the falls, including a challenging hike with a staircase.
If you, too, want to live in a city with an in-town vibe and outdoor adventures, we can help! We build houses within walking distance of downtown Woodstock, and we’d love to show you our current projects! Give us a call at 404-448-2005 or visit our website to learn more.
